ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari unveiled the long awaited manifesto for General Elections 2018 on Thursday.
The PPP has named its manifesto “BB ka Waada Nibhana Hai ,Pakistan Bachana Hai”.
While presenting the party manifesto, Bilawal said that the prevalent economic condition of Pakistan is unsatisfactory.
The PPP chairman said that the previous government weakened the accountability institutions of country. He added that the previous parliament failed to address the issues of the country.
“The process of reforms in democracy never stops ,” said the chairman adding that we have to free Pakistan from the fear of poverty.
He further said that the foreign policy in his government will be pro-active and his party would highlight the human rights abuse being committed by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.
‘’Foreign policy should be rooted in economic diplomacy but unfortunately the country had not foreign minister in for as many as four years in previous government,’’ the PPP chairman said.
Earlier speaking on the occasion the former president and Co-chairman PPP Asif Zardari said that his party did many development works in Pakistan during its tenure.
The PPP leader included in its manifesto to lift ban on student and trade unions in Pakistan.
Bilawal further added that if the water problem is not addressed accurately, then Pakistan will face acute problem of water scarcity.
‘’ We have built small dams in Jamshoro to address the water crisis in the district’’. Said Bilawal.
It was the party’s 10th manifesto. The first manifesto was revealed by PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for general elections 1970. Bhutto’s successor Benazir Bhutto presented six party manifestos in her life.
